Pig production Grand Prix winners

Three pig producers from Belgium have won international awards for their innovation in pig production.  They are the winning best practices from the 2018 Grand Prix and have each been awarded the title of EU PiG Ambassador.  The best practices address three key challenges, which were identified by industry:-

Meat Quality

  • Olive oil as a source of fat for pigs

Health Management

  • Different feeds as zinc oxide alternatives
  • Cross-company approach to PRRS
